Condorcet Campus, a new student spirit
Opened in 2019 on the former Fort wasteland, Condorcet Campus brings together several humanities schools and universities around a vast Grand équipement documentaire. The district has cafés, student housing and new contemporary buildings. You meet at the cafeteria, then walk to Front Populaire metro, extended to Aubervilliers Mairie in 2022: a city of the future to discover together.
Contemporary stages
Aubervilliers has quietly become a creative capital. The National Dance Centre, housed in the former administrative city, programmes shows and exhibitions in magnificent concrete. Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, discreet, welcome artists and writers in residence. At the Théâtre de la Commune, a national stage since 1965, French and foreign creations meet. A show for two, then a drink on a nearby terrace, and the evening is well under way.
Olympic legacy and strolls
The Olympic Village of the Paris 2024 Games stretches over Saint-Denis and Saint-Ouen, but part of its buildings sit near Aubervilliers and will leave behind housing, offices and gardens along the Seine. Northward, the Millénaire shopping centre and its studios offer a canal-side walk. On Lyad, locals share their new-generation addresses; it is up to you to find someone to explore the places that are moving.
